Jeff Nelsen

Jeff NelsenLeadership & Teaching

Pastor Jeff joined our staff in 1995, having previously served as our Youth Pastor from 1984-1988. He serves as one of the primary teachers on Sunday mornings, and he also serves on the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for leadership development and ensuring the tone and culture of Cherry Hills remains encouraging and loving. Pastor Jeff’s ability to express the truths of the Bible in a practical way has been a help to people in their spiritual growth. He and his wife, Patricia, have three children and three grandchildren.

Steve Patzia

Steve PatziaLeadership & Teaching

Pastor Steve serves as one of the primary teachers on Sunday mornings, and he also serves on the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for ministry staff oversight. He also serves on our Elder Team.
Steve’s desire is to help people see Jesus did indeed come to give us “life to the full” (John 10:10) and following Him wholeheartedly is the path to that abundant life. Steve and his wife Peggy are the parents of two children.

Brian Schwarberg

Brian SchwarbergLeadership & Missions

Pastor Brian joined our staff in 2006. He serves on the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for shaping and communicating the vision of the church. He also serves as an elder, and oversees the Missions Team working with missionaries and organizations locally and around the world. Brian has a great desire to see our church family mobilized to serve both near and far. Particular areas of interest include foster care and adoption, immigration and refugee issues, and racial reconciliation. He and his wife, Sara have three children.

Brian Wilmarth

Brian WilmarthCare & Groups

Pastor Brian joined us in November, 2012. He oversees all of our care ministries and Life Groups. Essentially he helps us with the second part of our mission – Love One Another. Brian is passionate about helping people to grow deep in their relationship with the Lord by sharing life together in authentic community that challenges and cares for each other. Brian and his wife, Jessica, are parents of two children.

Lee Willis Jr.

Lee Willis Jr.Assimilation & Discipleship

Pastor Lee joined our staff in 2009.  He oversees First Impressions and connecting people in our church. His heart is to help each individual know their next step in their faith journey.  This can be seen as he oversees Baptism, First Step Class (for those newer to Cherry Hills), Membership and Network.  Lee loves seeing people feel welcome and strives to keep a hospitable atmosphere. Lee and his wife Kristi have one child.

Jim Fay

Jim FayLeadership & Operations

Jim is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, where he is responsible for financial, building and grounds, and administrative issues. He has been a member of Cherry Hills since 1986 and enjoyed a 26-year career with the state police before spending a year in Iraq as an army advisor. Jim has a heart for mission work and regularly participates in supporting the efforts of the Amigos en Cristo group in Juarez, Mexico and other local mission projects. Jim and his wife, Lynn live in rural Petersburg.

Tammy joined our church staff in 2009. She and her husband Phil have been a part of the Cherry Hills Family since 1990 along with their 3 adult children. Her interests include reading, sewing, gardening and music.

Sue Cooper

Sue BlankenshipCommunications

Sue joined the Cherry Hills office staff in 2000. She oversees our weekly publications, the web site, and other communication projects. She also works closely with the Worship Arts Teams, serving on the Creative Planning Team and helping coordinate our services. Sue and her husband, Greg, live in Springfield.

Susan Jamison

Susan JamisonCare

Susan has been part of the Cherry Hills office staff since 1998 and continues to provide administrative support and encouragement to our growing staff. In addition to assisting the various ministry teams, she also helps with our Care Ministries and getting people connected at Cherry Hills. Susan and her husband Bob first came to Cherry Hills in 1995. They are the parents of a son in college. Susan enjoys music (Fernando Ortega, worship & country) and sports (Red Sox).

Chuck Bosworth

Chuck BosworthWorship Arts

Chuck joined our staff in July, 2010. He leads the planning of our worship services and oversees all Worship Arts Ministries. Chuck believes that we exist to magnify the name of Jesus Christ through art, and has a passion for learning how to move from preference (of music styles) to praise (remember Who we are worshipping). Chuck and his wife Lisa have three children.

Jenny Elliott

Jenny ElliottWorship Arts

Jenny has had a long history of serving on staff and as a volunteer for Cherry Hills since 1998. Her role is to provide collaborative leadership to the Worship Arts ministry alongside Pastor Chuck Bosworth. Jenny is married to Kevin and they have 5 children.

Brad Warren

Brad WarrenWorship Choir

Brad serves as the director of the worship choir at Cherry Hills (the Worship Choir, the SummerBreeze Chorus, and the Men’s Chorus). Brad and his wife, Amy, were married in 1994, and they have three sons, Isaac, Philip, and Gabriel. Brad and his family enjoy traveling and Dilbert comic strips.

Glenn McCrae

Glenn McCraeTechnical Arts

Glenn joined the Cherry Hills staff in July, 2014. His gifting and skills are the ideal fit for our Worship Arts team. Glenn oversees everything related to sound and video for our church. He also plays several instruments and sings with the praise team when possible. Glenn and his wife, Leah, have two children.

Jessica Wilmarth

Jessica WilmarthWorship Arts

Jessica started as a volunteer in Worship Arts and came on staff in 2013. She assists Chuck Bosworth with administrative tasks, but is also the main leader of our drama ministry. She is married to Pastor Brian Wilmarth, and they have two children.

Courtney Sullivan

Courtney SullivanWeekday Preschool

Courtney serves as the Preschool Director for our weekday Preschool. She coordinates anything pertaining to our weekday Preschool. She and her husband Brian have two children.

Luke Martin

Sr. High

Luke started with Cherry Hills in September, 2017. He is a graduate of Anderson University in South Carolina, and is close to completing his M.Div degree from seminary. Luke & his wife Mara, were also married in September, 2017. Both he and Mara grew up in church and were heavily influenced by the student pastor at their church, and have both been serving students ever since.

Jessica Schildman

Jessica SchildmanChildren/Family

Jessica joined our staff in August, 2017. She oversees the Children’s Ministry from birth-5th grade. One of the great joys of children’s ministry for Jessica is getting to pass on the priceless gift given to her: a church family where kids can begin to know God’s great love for them and become life-long followers of Jesus. She is a mom to two boys and says that God knit their family of three together, through the process of adoption, giving her a unique love and appreciation for the way God has adopted all of us into His family.

Bethany Russell

Bethany RussellGirls Ministry

Bethany oversees the Jr High and Sr. High school girls ministry. She has attended Cherry Hills for many years, and also works as a high school math teacher at Williamsville High School. She and her husband, Billy married in 2014 and have one child.

Early Childhood

Heather has been on staff since 2014. She considers it a joy and privilege to partner with parents to teach young children about God’s great love for them. Heather and her husband, Matt, have four children.

Cherry Hills Preschool is a ministry of Cherry Hills Baptist Church established more than 45 years ago that provides 3 year old and 4 year old programming, as well as programming for those who are 5 years old and are not yet ready for the academic and/or emotional climate of kindergarten.
