Network Class Starts January 25
Network has played an integral part in getting people involved in ministry – both inside & outside our church walls. A new class begins on this Sunday, January 21 with Pastor Lee teaching. The 6-week class meets in Room E108 (lower level) from January 21-February 25 from 7:00-8:15 p.m. The class book ($10) can be purchased the first night of class. There are a few spots remaining if you’d like to sign up (childcare no longer available for new registrations). Sign up by this Friday, January 19th by contacting the church office (email@example.com).
Membership Class February 11
We are offering a Membership Class for adults & youth on Sunday, February 11th. Pastor Jeff teaches this 4-hour class (2:00-6:00 p.m.). We’ll spend the afternoon talking about Jesus’ dream for His church and then wrap up the day with a light meal. Space is limited, so to help us plan, please register in advance by January 31st by contacting the church office (546-4818 or firstname.lastname@example.org). Limited childcare is also available but we must know by January 31st if your children are coming that day.
Please note: This class is a required step in our membership process, but if you are new to Cherry Hills, we suggest you begin by attending the First Step Class. First Step is offered on Sunday mornings several times a year (sessions start January 14th and March 25th).
Families who have welcomed a child home through birth or adoption this year are invited to our Parent-Child Dedication Event on Saturday morning, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. This event gives parents an opportunity to acknowledge the gift of a new child as well as dedicate themselves to leading their child to be a follower of Jesus. Contact the church office (546-4818 or email@example.com) for a registration packet. Deadline to register is Wednesday, January 31st.
We are kicking off a new session of Men’s 33 that will run from February 3-March 10, 2018. The series is designed to inspire and equip men to pursue authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ in His 33 years on earth. Volume I contains six sessions that explore the basic foundations of authentic manhood and God’s clear design for men.
This first volume of 33 starts with meaningful insights into the current state of manhood, which will help men navigate through some realities that have created cultural confusion. It follows by unfolding God’s mandates for all men and offering a clear definition of authentic manhood that will help men on their journey. Each participant will learn the four “faces” of manhood and how to anticipate and transition through the specific seasons of life.
If you’d like to register for this session (you need not have done any previous sessions), click here.
Women’s Retreat February 2-3
We want to extend a warm invitation to the Women’s Winter Retreat. We’ve planned Friday evening to call upon the Lord in keeping with our focus on prayer and our verse, “Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12, 13. Come share in a time of worship and prayer as we focus on praying for specific topics to include: our nation, our families and children, our unsaved loved ones and more. Saturday will be a teaching on prayer by nationally known speaker and author, Jill Savage. Jill’s sessions are as follows:
- Faith–Do I have God-sized faith?
- Truth–Am I walking in the flesh or the Spirit?
- Hope–Are my eyes on the mountains or the Mountain Mover?
When: February 2nd (7:00-8:30 p.m.) and February 3rd (9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.)
Cost: $20 (covers materials and snacks )
Registration: January 14, 21st and 28th at the Ministry Center or on-line.
Worship Choir Begins January 24
The Worship Choir welcomes returning, former and new members for the Spring season. Rehearsals begin Wednesday evening, 6:30-8:15 p.m., January 24. Childcare is provided with advance notice. Our choir director, Brad Warren, will be at the Ministry Center on Sunday, between services to meet you and answer your questions. Inclement Weather Plan
As we move into the winter season, there may be those rare occasions when it’s necessary to cancel Sunday Services or other activities. Please be sure to check the homepage of our website, Facebook or Instagram page, or call the main church telephone line (217) 546-4818 for updates. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding if we ever find it necessary to reschedule or cancel events at Cherry Hills.
