James Project Boxed Lunch Sales
Boxed lunch orders from Cafe Moxo will be taken at the Ministry Center only through this Sunday, May 27. You can then pick up your lunch after the service of your choice on June 3. There will be a variety of sandwiches to choose from, including vegetarian and children’s options. Adult meals are $12 and children’s meals are $9 (need to be prepaid with cash, check or credit card).
The James Project serves foster children in our area by helping the foster families who care for them. They help in three areas:
- Call 1:27 recruits dedicated, Christian foster parents to help make the foster system more successful in its service to displaced children.
- Closet 1:27 provides needed items for newly placed foster children through Closet 1:27. Most foster children arrive at a new placement with nothing but what they are wearing. The Closet provides clothing, shoes, pajamas, underwear, coats, diapers, formula, beds and bedding, backpacks, school uniforms and hygiene packs.
- James Project Homes. The James Project owns and maintains 4 homes in Springfield that they rent to highly qualified foster parents, who care for multiple children, for $1 a year. They also provide wraparound support for these families which can include anything from a hot meal delivered once a week, to help with yard work, housework, music lessons, tutoring and more.
The James Project always needs volunteers, donated items and monetary contributions to help them in this ministry to the fostering community.
Hospitality Team For Foster/Adoptive Parents
We want to learn how to better serve families who take the step of fostering or adopting. If you would be interested in learning more about being on a hospitality team for foster & adoptive families in our church, please contact Pastor Brian S (email@example.com).
The Children’s Ministry is looking for Faith Buddies to partner one-on-one with children who may need extra attention and assistance to thrive in our Children’s Ministry environments. Faith Buddies might be paired with a child who has a behavioral or medical need, an extreme allergy, or a child who gets overwhelmed in a classroom environment. Anyone (age 13 and above) with a heart for kids, a desire to serve and a patient spirit could make a great Faith Buddy. Please contact Jessica (JessicaS@cherryhillsfamily.org or 546-4818).
