A time for anyone 18–29 to gather with others and discuss teaching relevant to the stage of life and issues facing 20-somethings. Decade 20 takes place on the first Thursday of each month, 7–9pm at the student building.
An emerging adult is a post-high school 20-something who’s in the early stages of the journey of adulthood. As Ronald Rolheiser says, maturing is about the movement from struggling to get our lives together toward struggling to give our lives away. We never stop struggling, but we become proficient at some of the basics of “adulting” over time and increasingly are able to shift our vision toward the generative life of love found in God. We need spaces of community and formation to help us get there, and that’s why emerging adult ministry matters. We want to be an intergenerational church that’s incorporating young people into the life of the church and the mission of God. Scott and Kim Blomberg host the emerging adults group at their home on Thursday nights from 6–8. The home group is a place for people who’ve made a commitment to weekly participation and want to grow with a community of peers through a meal and conversation.
College students are always welcome in the emerging adult group! If you'd like to grow and connect with peers on campus, we invite you to check out Christian Student Fellowship.
